@David, I didn't mean me, but most others are posting songs more from my mothers generation. I have eclectic tastes and like things from classical, jazz, rock n roll, pop, and asian pop (gotta love popasia), to heavy metal. Can't say I enjoy death metal all that much though
i like ur sound, kinda like the Paladins meet Quicksilver Messenger Service .. .. .. now, be honest, u wrote this one about us greenfelties, lol .. .. ..
I realized that the Youtube versions don't sound that great. If you go to Spotify or a few other music playing sources the uploads have a better sound quality than Youtube.
Since Christmas is over all the presents have been opened , all the eggnog drank, all the presents returned to store and exchanged it's time for New Years. Happy New Years everybody.
Interesting to see that this thread is still going. I don't play much solitaire during football & basketball seasons, but look in occasionally to see who's still hanging out.
Great song homedoggy thanks
Little Blues by Joe Bonamassa and rock legend Peter Frampton, at the 8:15 mark Bonamassa breaks a string and plays with 5 strings on a classic song done by many greats in music
That was good riverrat. Last night I treated myself to over 2 hrs with Elvis. They re-ran the 1970 special of him preparing and performing his comeback touring special in Vegas. Boy, was it ever special. binky
Thanks riverrat, that's a good one from way back. I was lucky enough to see him in concert several times when he started touring. He was scheduled to be here the year he died but I decided not to go because he was in such bad shape. I saw him the year before and he had already started going downhill. Slurring and forgetting words to songs. Was all bloated and it was just too sad to watch again. But he's still the King and I love him. Such a wasted talent. binky
Yeah, he's been here several times at the von Braun Civic Center. Saw him in concert quiet a few years ago and the show was great. We've had a lot of really big names perform here and I was lucky enough to see a lot of them.
Riverrat55 and all ... just browsing back over a year or so, amazing and assorted collection of video. Eclectic is the word that leaps to mind. So much music, so little time. And rediscovered my love of Joe Satriani.
I tried playing while listening, doesn't work. Sweet dreams.
I've never figured out how to do this --- posting a video. Hope I got it right .
This is Nicholas Norris playing English handbells. If you've never had the pleasure of hearing a handbell choir, each member of the choir is assigned 3 or 4 bells to play at the appropriate time in the music. He is playing all the bells that would be played by 8 or 10 choir members. I saw this on Facebook and homedoggy's Appalachian Spring video reminded me of this.
riverrat55, thank you so much for that video. Great music!! I thank God that I grew up in that era. Little Richard was one of the greatest!! RIP, indeed....Heaven is rockin' today.
Riverrat55.thank-you for that excellent video.Never thought I would be foot tapping at 9.55 a.m.He now joins all the other rockers.Heaven must be pounding now.........Rock-on!
Thanks to all of you, but homedoggy, WOW, that video brought me to tears. It is so sweet and beautiful. It has always puzzled me how motherhood is both the best feeling in the world and can also be so frightening and frustrating.
Mary Hopkins. Now there's a blast from the past.Semi-retirement in the 70's.Had enough of the rat-race.Pity,a very nice voice. They are all leaving us homedoggy. What can we do?
graeme, I have a feeling you're going to be with us for many years to come. I've been watching a program on TV called "Escape to to the country", about people looking to buy houses in your neck of the woods. They show all the beautiful green countryside in Wales, Ireland, Scotland and all around. It is so breathtaking. Would love to visit there some day. I watch it enough that some times I feel like I've picked up your accent......Later, binky
Hello binky3.Escape to the country very popular over here. One of Christines favourite programmes. The U.K well worth a visit if you can.So much to see.The daffodils are nearly finished now.Lots of bluebells carpeting the nearby woods.Hawthorne in flower.Country at it's best in Spring.Birds coughing away in the garden.........who knows, you may yet have the chance to visit across the pond.Take care,we live in dangerous times.
