Come back Elvis and sing me blue Xmas.Burl Ives? Now you'r going back.Apart from Elvis I'm quite partial to Bing Crosby,.. especially with a large whisky.
Bing is older than Burl. Sorry you don't like my song choice but really. I've never made fun of anyone's song choices....and there are plenty of stinky songs posted.
Hello Monkeynotale. It was not a criticism of you'r choice.Point I was making was that Burl Ives reminds me of my youth many years ago.No offence meant.Have a happy Xmas.
thank u for ur gracious comment jayG and for starting this thread .. .. .. i enjoy the diversity of posts, after all, variety is the spice of life!! vive la difference!!!!
Love everything Bing Crosby sang. When I was just a kid I remember that mom and dad played his Christmas album the whole month of December. Another favourite of mine is "Mary's Boy Child" sung by 'Boney M.'
Sorry if I posted a few too many on this thread. Clearly Christmas and the music that goes with it helps me and some others get into the spirit.
I would like to thank you all for accepting one another...warts and all...for the people we are. I would like to thank david and jim for the hard word and diligence for providing the playground we all enjoy. And I am so grateful for the friendships that have been forged here.
Merry Christmas to all...and Happy New Year!
