John Prine, a most brilliant songwriter so few ever knew by name, although many of his songs were big hits for others, we lost him to covid last year .. .. .. i feel lucky to have see him perform with his son in the band, beautiful .. .. ..
Melbourne SKA is awesome! And I haven't heard Little Willy in years. The others are new to me, but even at my age there's always room for something new. Thanks guys. Now I'd like to share one.
VaxPassport, I'm not familiar with that song, but as they used to say on American Bandstand, "I really like the beat." π
And riverrat55, I think I hear "The Edge of Seventeen" everytime I've got my radio on. Can't help but listen to the oldies.
Thanks you two for a pleasant evening.
Kevin Spacey tried, but only Bobby Darin knew how to give justice to "By the Sea" and the infamous "Mack the Knife". But my favorite Bobby Darin hit will forever be..."Dream Lover" (and I'm still waiting for him every night π)
any Nina Hagen video would fit right in to a Halloween theme, this one caught my eye cuz look who she has hanging from her ear, OMG!!!! it's binky .. .. .. aaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Thank goodness she has only 2 ears! I think you are safe dear binky3. You're too special to us to allow someone to use you as an accessory. A live, vital human, you are an important member of greenfelt.net. Stay safe dear friend.
Why this? In process of recruiting volunteers for Toys for Tots Christmas campaign. Trying to come up w/job description name/function for toy warehouse check-out person. Aha! Tallyman. Colleague and I then of course burst into the Banana Boat song. The 29 year old in the room gives us the "what is with these old ladies?" look. Combined with what's your scary movie ...

I was listening to a Jimmy Webb interview the other day (he wrote the song) and he is a fascinating man.
Now, these last few videos are really good. Great choices.
