  • @Fnarf Yep, I cleared cookies and site data. We had a power outage a couple of days ago and I decided to re-do my browser. Forgot to enable clear all cookies and site data when I turn the browser off.

    Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing in the high score table after you finish a game? You don't have to win it, just get an ace or 2 into foundations and then click the "Give Up" button.

    I think I may have a problem accessing the server. I see that I have a number of games waiting to be sent. Nothing is happening when I try to "send immediately." Is it possible that further requests are blocked until this queue gets cleared.?

    I can imagine there is a humongous number of requests waiting for the sever.

    @aps, Is the number on the little card icon in the menu bar section growing every time you finish a game? How high is it at the moment?

    Is it possible that further requests are blocked until this queue gets cleared?

    Yeah, Green Felt tries to deliver the queued games in order so if there were one that was not working for some reason it would hold back the ones in the queue after it. It seems like that may be happening to a lot of people right now but it's hard to debug since it doesn't appear to be reaching our server (so we can't inspect things to see where they are going wrong).

    When you finish the game does the pop up window come up and just have a loading spinner? Or does the high score table come up and your score just isn't there? And does the text at the top say anything about being unable to save or server maintenance? Any details would really help us start looking in the right place.

    Update: I think Jim and I figured it out. We're working on a fix now. It'll probably take 2 or 3 hours to get it in place.

    If you don't care about the games you've played getting to the leader board and you don't want to wait for us to fix it, clearing your cookies should clear out the queued games (close any Green Felt tabs before clearing cookies otherwise it might just immediately write them back) and new games should show up in the high scores.

    If you do care about your games getting to the leader board, be patient and when we fix the issue they should all just flow into the server.

  • I cleared all cookies, and it now seems to be working okay, thank you, although I have lost all games played from leaderboard over last few weeks! I’ll just have to catch up again!

    @aps, I think we finally got it fixed (we released new code to the site on 2025-05-15 at 12:09:49 PDT). You'll need to reload the page to make sure you get the new code. Is it working for you now?

    THANK YOU David and Jim. What you two have done is amazing. For a very small testing sample, the database seems to now work blazingly fast. Is it still humongously large or have you done a clean-up?

  • I'm not sure if my question is related to this or not: I have kept a record of the 40 Thieves games I have played that can be won. If I don't win I do go back and try again at a later date. This evening I was trying to replay an older game and when I checked for high scores, I got the error message that that particular game has no high scores. Or could it be that scores are no longer being kept for any length of time. Please advise. Thanks.
