Issues with the UI overhaul -- A Clearinghouse...
With the proliferation of threads raising issues with the new look of Green Felt, I thought it might be more efficient to collect a list of problems in one thread. I know going in that this is a fool's errand. Draw your own conclusions about just how big a fool I am...
First off, thanks @jim & @david for all the work you put into this batch of changes. As a quality engineer on a consumer app that runs on Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android--with a prime directive of maintaining similar design and workflows across all platforms--I fully appreciate the difficulty of getting it right everywhere. If we're all patient and provide specific feedback, I'm confident that you guys will iron out the wrinkles.
Here's my first observation: The two rows of buttons/links above card games are too close together. Twice yesterday while playing Spider, I hit "Please report it" when I was aiming for Undo. On one of those occasions, the browser's Back button got me back to the game in progress. The other time, the game was lost--and very near the finish line to boot :-(. And it's just a matter of time before I hit "Game of the Day" when I meant to tap Replay.
Suggested solution: instead of increasing the space between the rows, what would you think of removing the links to report a bug and request a feature since those options are available under Contact? As for the Game of the Day link, perhaps that could be converted to a button in the vicinity of "New Game" & "Replay"

Here's a bug I called out in another thread (as an example of how to report a bug report in a way that's actionable...)
STEPS TO REPRO:
1. on an iPad, go to Hopeless with the device in landscape
2. Rotate the device to portrait orientation
RESULT:
Game does not resize to the new screen orientation, so the Start Game and Colors controls are hidden. See https://youtu.be/-CogaBDoIq0
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:
page should relayout properly for the new orientation.
Thank you @DeusExMachina. I posted this yesterday but in spirit of adding to clearinghouse: cannot look at a message by opening in a new tab. When I look at a message I return to a new game vs the one I was playing. As one who once managed a cadre of programmers, it takes time to fix the fixes. And sometimes Whack-a-mole.
Hi @DeusExMachina I have an iPad but I’m not experiencing that problem with Hopeless. When I orientate to portrait the Start Game and Colors buttons are visible and responsive.
Maybe 🤔 it’s been fixed in the time between your report and my test.
Thanks for the thread! And thanks to the greenfelt guys for maintaining the site. On my Android tablet, the only issue I've noticed so far is with the leaderboard. I keep it sorted by moves instead of time, and occasionally score in the top 3 for Yukon or Scorpion. It highlights my name in that game list, but not in the first two lists -- player of the day or week. A very minor change... but if we're keeping track, thought I'd add it to the list.
Small problem: on the leader board, the logged in users scores are highlighted in the individual games, but not in the "players of the day" and "players of the week". Also, the highlights don't seem to stand out as much as they used to. Thanks Jim and Dave for all of your good work - it is greatly appreciated here B^)
Hi @jim @david “new” messages are accumulating instead of reloading without the new tag once they’ve been seen
@fingsaint ...I noticed that you can click the word "message"...or more exactly the down arrow next to 'messages' and the new status goes away
Thanks @homedoggy 👍 this works for me now that I’ve discovered the landscape display of Green Felt on my iPad. Portrait is a whole different ballgame 🤔
