Number of Consecutive Games Won

I think a good measurement of winning is the number or percentage of consecutive games a player has won.

The new feature I'm suggesting would be to have the "Winning Times Table" (displayed at the end of a game) display the percentage of games won by the player, in addition to the time the game took. This makes for a better measure for players to compare themselves.

Achieving a low time to complete a game and not winning a high percentage of consecutive games indicates the player is cherry picking games that are easier to win. A player that has a very low time in completing a game and successfully completes a high percentage of their games is truly the better player.

I love this implementation for Free Cell, great job on the game.

  • No such thing as a better player.Your ability to play well will vary from day to day depending on many factors. These games are for fun and not to be taken so seriously.Enjoy your game.

  • I most definitely agree with YOU- GRAEME

  • Well Graeme...I disagree on the "no such thing as a better player". There are just some games that no matter how hard I try...I just don't seem to get!

I too am just here for my own enjoyment...however...I am just not that competitive. I think however that we must remember that there are people that enjoy the competitiveness of playing online with other competitive players. Some people very much love statistics. I used to...just too old now to care about those types of things.

The only time I am on the Leader Board is if I am one of the first few to play the Game of the Day. My time there is very very short lived. I also admit that I rarely even know when I am playing the game of the day.

IMO...for what it is worth(which isn't much)...we should just let the more serious players play how they want and we should just enjoy our way of playing. After all if David and Jim add some type of statistic scoring to Green Felt is wouldn't interfere with us laid back players.

  • There is a certain subset of us who play for speed. So I see this request as nothing more than a variation that some of us may or may not have an interest in. I'm with Graeme and just play for kicks and giggles. That being said, I wonder about the logistics in making ttdc's request possible. And I wonder about the likelihood that a player would replay a game, or undo a bunch of moves to insure his streak stays alive. If the games are going to be manipulated like this... there really isn't much point.

  • Not an religious person .... AMEN ! just here to have fun, and enjoy myself , and for nan we are all young at heart, no matter how many sunrises we've seen. I couldn't be here if I was to competitive for my own good. I'm slow of what mind I have left to beat any time.
