Is it okay to use footage of these games for a YouTube video?
My mom was watching me play Spider, and commented that it was weird as she's only ever played Klondike (which, of course, she identifies as "Solitaire," sigh).
I run a YouTube channel, where I post footage of games and such. I was thinking tonight that it might be neat to post footage of my mom playing these new types of Solitaire that she's unfamiliar with, with commentary as we play, and such. I don't think I've ever seen a "Let's Play Solitaire" kinda video yet (not that I've looked for them, really).
Would it be okay to use footage of this site for a YouTube video? And, related question, would it be okay to put ads on the video (monetize it)? I assume I'd post a link to this site. My channel is not yet all that popular (I have fewer than 50 subscribers), but it could give you some traffic at least.
Please let me know; thank you.

Actually that’s an interesting dilemma for David and Jim.
Do they want more traffic when the only return for them is more maintenance and Amazon expense?
Usually traffic = increase revenue but not here
I'd say it's okay...if I can get the t-shirt concession.
...but I don't get a vote.
Well there have certainly been times when i wanted to show how I play these games so people will quit saying fast people cheat. lol But I wouldnt know how anyway.
The answer to that question lies totally with Jim and David.
I'm not sure how effective a training tool a video of @lasso completing a game in 8 seconds would be....but I would like to see it.
I want dibs on T Shirt concession as well, have to be Tye Dye thou little blue and red, I will skip rebel flag thou, roflmao! Take care good luck in your venture,
I could definitely supply a running commentary. I am an accomplished babbler.
You'd have to talk fast.
Actually, G64...@fingsaint called dibs on the T-shirts on another post.
to @Kilyle...@Jim or @David will see this and get back to you.
@Kilyle, You are totally welcome to stream our games. If you want to call out the site or link it in the description, that would be nice, too.
I too would like to see @lasso, etc play a game. I don't question it, envy it, want to emulate it -- just would be interesting.
@lasso or anyone else interested, you can download Jing from https://www.techsmith.com/download/jing/ and capture a video of your screen like https://www.techsmith.com/tutorial-jing-record-video.html ... Jing's main limitation is it only allows up to 5 minutes but I don't think that'd be a problem here
It may try to upsell you to SnagIt or Camtasia once in a while (paid but free trial ~ we like and use SnagIt at our office if you want more features) but it's not required.
