Scorpion scoring

Although I've been playing for quite a while, I still can't figure out how the scoring is arrvived at. Could you please explain?

    Buddha - have a look about 1 month ago, cramneck asked similar question and got an answer. Bit hard to understand, but an answer nonetheless.

    Jim - Do the runs have to be at the top of the column in order to figure into the scoring?

    Nope. They can start anywhere.
