MANY times, the game undoes the moves I make, sometimes several times in a row.

We have setup Undo as "right click". If you have a mouse, then you might be pressing the right button instead of the left. If you have a track pad (or an Apple magic mouse), then you might be clicking with two fingers instead of one.
It's easy to miss click if you are not paying attention. It's also really easy to Undo once you know that it's available in such a convenient manner!
