what would happen to scores if each player had one attempt each day?
We wonder the same. It's technically hard to give everyone the same game each day while making sure they don't play twice. A person can just create a second account and play again.
One idea we have is to have games that start at certain time (e.g. the 5pm Free Cell game) such that there isn't time to play twice before the window closes. We wouldn't have just one a day though, we'd have them every so often (e.g. there would be a Free Cell game that starts "on the :15") and you'd have a minute to start. We could notify you when the game is about to start and you could pause your current game and return to it when after the competition.

I really don't know and just raised the question.
I do like that you place a score above someone's score that has pladyed more than once.
