Mouse click becomes unresponsive

Playing Freecell in the Safari browser on a MacBook Pro (Sonoma 14.7.3), sometimes the ability to click goes away. Not only in Safari but anywhere on the screen: Finder, Mail, wherever. The screen is also unresponsive to mouse pointer "presence": the Dock does not pop up when the mouse is moved to the bottom. The keyboard is unaffected. If I switch to another Space (Desktop), the mouse works fine, but return to the original Space and it is unresponsive again. Quitting Safari and restarting it may bring it back. When this happened just now I refreshed the game by appending ?game=[number] in the URL bar and hitting Return and the mouse started working again.
I have seen this half a dozen or more times on Greenfelt, and have not encountered it in any other site or app on the Mac.
@jim & @david, any idea what could be going on? I'm wondering if Freecell may have set a state like Mouse-Down and not properly released it when it should?
I can't swear that it only happens in Freecell, but the great majority of my time on site is spent there.

I'm not sure if my problem is exactly the same, but it definitely sounds similar. The mouse from time to time "sticks" in a contextual menu state. When I try to click on a button "New Game" for example, the contextual menu pops up and I am unable to click. If re-start the browser it goes away.
@Headspectre Sounds like a different problem but maybe a similar cause? Mouse state getting stuck inappropriately.
