cycles, spider, klondike
Hello, I'm fairly new to the on-line solitaire anonymous group. Maybe addiction isn't the right word but it's something like that. OK, here are my questions:
1. Is it a function of randomness in the game's algorithm or is it planned that a string of fairly quick and easy wins is followed by a string of short, lost games? Or is it my imagination?
2. In spider, if you make all the moves you can and wind up not being able to fill all the tableau spots, is that a loss? You've followed the games rules and can proceed no further, IMHO, that should be at minimum a draw and possibly a win.
3. My 'justifiable' cheat in klondike, and other games, is that if you have a choice of which card to play on the tableau, they have an equal number of face-down cards under them and you don't like the first one you choose, undo and choose the second which you MUST play. Obviously, this doesn't work in the XP version of MS's klondike. Can this be considered allowable?
I believe that if the game allows you to do something, it's legal.

Randomness. It’s more fun and efficient to play with undo. There’s no chance I could win spider without it. Undo away!
Have fun,

Exactly, @Bilus2.
Hence the concept of "rules of the game".
In high school (back when dirt was new) we played Monopoly with our own rules. Games were much more fun.
