Minor MayDay!!! EGAD

I just noticed that the Deck backs option is not on my Screen??!! I rebooted, I cleared all the cookies and rebooted - NOTHING

Am I, have I been, somehow running an "older" version of greenfelt.net?? I was there the last time I was aware of it.

All the discussion of Christmas cards and such gob smacked me when I looked and it wasn't there.

All greenfelt EMT's to the rescue, or Jim and David, Superman?

  • The Deck button is only available in games where deck backs are visible. (It's also turquoise with an orange squiggle under it so it's rather difficult to see.) Perhaps this is why it seems to have disappeared?

  • No, I can see it when I open "Alternation" - I never noticed that programming touch. To quote
Mr. Spock "Fascinating". Thank you @Sage, I owe you one.

  • Forget Spock - Sage is our "Yoda"

You're making me blush! Thank you... :) But the "Yoda" thing doesn't always work out. I just tried, unsuccessfully, to explain to a well aged senior, over the phone, how to get into their Hotmail, on their IPad. They're going to get in-person help, tomorrow.

  • In years gone bye, pre retirement, I was the IT "specialist"/Manager which, in our shop, meant system programming, working with my programmers, network admin, running cable for new drops, dealing with "advice" and demands from management and HEAD OFFICE ad nauseum. Adding to the circus were clueless users, keeping up with the latest technology, staying within budget and lunch on the run. I commiserate with you @Sage, I remember trying to explain something to a user face to face and getting nowhere, on the phone is beyond hopeless. I had an MBA plant manager who couldn't understand why Excel in Windows 3.1 had a file size limitation I.E. "unstable" over 16meg,
he wanted me to fix it.

  • me too, IT/operations manager back in the day. My favorite reminiscence is an older colleague, also a dear friend, who, when we first placed computers on everybody's desks, begged for the styrofoam model. Eventually became a proficient "dinosaur." Clueless users, eventually throw hands up in air & curse to self. Good she is, Yoda.

  • Sorry guys - but I'm the clueless idiot. No idea when it comes to tech

  • Amen, jabba....I didn't even understand what they were saying. haha

  • It's fun to read something, though, and not really know what they're talking about.

  • Sorry @jabba, you're not clueless or an idiot. Your comments are cogent, often funny and to the point. You are part of the greenfelt community and a valued voice.

  • I'll second that!
