A hint button or feature
Yeah, I like that idea too.
@MelissaW @hannahg What type of response would you expect to see, get, from a Hint Button?
@MelissaW and @hannahg Consider this site the same as playing solitaire with a deck of cards and what hints do you get when you play solitaire with a deck of cards?
@Sage This isn't the same as playing with a deck of cards. I play several different online games and they not only allow undo but they also offer hints at the 'easy' level. Perhaps because there is only one level of each game here, it might not be appropriate, but I always play the easy level in those games that have it. I do this for relaxation and to turn off my thoughts - so hints work fine for me. I love being able to undo and redo very much too. I am not competitive except against myself so playing relaxes me.
@hannahg In most, if not all, solitaire games here you can 'undo' and 'redo'. Because GreenFelt has only 1 level of play I'm guessing Hint is something the programmers would not able to do.
Also - personal opinion - a Hint Button would NOT be well received by GreenFelters who have been playing on this site for years. It removes the challenge, strategy, of the game.
@sierrarose I am a Greenfelter who has probably been playing here longer than most - I am an old person! And it would be well received by me - LOL I can see the pros and cons of a hint button though and the reasons why the programmers might not want to do it. But I still like to be able to use one in my other game sites. Change scares some people it seems.
@hannahg I too am old, but I don't even understand how a hint would help or would appear in the games I play. Forty Thieves and Free Cell
@jezzbelle If I knew HOW it would work, then I would be very smart indeed. There are a lot of things in life that I would like that are probably not even possible! LOL I just know that I play other card games like Pinochle and Cribbage and Hearts and Spades etc online and they have hint buttons. But if all I can have is an undo or redo button then so be it - I am grateful for that much.
