It would be so helpful if the user could select a "size" and make it permanent. Having to select the desired size each time is aggravating, but not unmanageable.

It stays the same, for me, when I select a size.
The size selection is stored in a cookie, so if you browse in Incognito/Private mode then you'll lose your settings when the browser closes. Or if you clear your browser cookies/cache/history it might lose that, too. One days we'll also store the settings on the server, but until then make sure your browser isn't deleting your cookies.
