Please describe the problem in detail:

one plays the same games over and over and the scores can not be recorded.

Comments

  • Really? I have not seen that problem. Sometimes/often I have to go through a few extra steps to get my score recorded but 90-95% of the time it works...that is if I feel the need to archive a score for a solitaire game that might bring world peace.

IOW...Why is it so important for your scores to be recorded...maybe for future generations???

  • It is important so others can others bask in the glow of my genius. Its for their benefit not mine. Everyone needs a superhero to look up to.

  • Do you know how to repair a back end server? Perhaps you can help... https://www.smashingmagazine.com/back-end-server-administration-php-guidelines/

The back end server, that runs this website, needs to be repaired or replaced. It's not big enough to handle all the activity, all the people, and all the games being played, on this site, day after day. David and Jim, the owners of this site, are working on this, but it's taking time, effort, and expense, to either repair or replace it. https://www.reference.com/technology/back-end-server-d4d0f1b851cd7424

"Yes. We are working on it. The current status is we're waiting on a disk to arrive so that we can move the database to a faster machine. Our database is so big that it takes almost a day to replicate the data. It's also so big that pricing for having someone else host it for us is unacceptably high. So we have to build everything ourselves and it's slow going." -David, March 27

Click on the various games "Game of the Day" button on Leaderboard.

    Also, for more games...

Click on the New Game button (on the left, under the Green Felt logo), of any game. Then click on the High Scores button to see if you've played it before. Keep doing this until you get a game you don't have a score on, because you haven't played it.

Alternately, click on the yellow game number of any game. (To the right of Auto Finish.) You can enter any number from 1 to 1,000,000,000, then click Enter (on your keyboard) to play that game.
