Here is a way to time yourself when the back server is down.
Press the restore down button so that the greenfelt window takes up three quarters of your screen.
Bring up your stopwatch, (in Alarms and Clock).
Set the stopwatch to zero, press 'New Game'. Press 'Start' on the stopwatch,the game will pause.
Play the game - when you have beaten the game press stop on the stopwatch.
I've tried this when the back server is working and it's pretty accurate.

However, I have noticed that the in game high scores are not always accurate. For instance, game 233416142 recorded 43 seconds, whereas my stopwatch recorded 34 seconds! Hey Ho.
