Explanation of scoring

Game: addiction

I don't understand how the scoring is done. In other versions of "Addiction" I have played, the score is 1 point for every card in the correct sequence. I just played a game here where 6 cards were out of sequence, but my score is 32.

I would like to see an explanation of scoring in the rules section.
