What does this do when clicked ( Show a player's first score, not their fastest). I see no dif checked or unchecked.

That no one on the list, as presented, has played the SAME game before. If you play the game twice or more you will show up. OR their "other" game or games has/had a MUCH lower score and is below the list you are seeing.
Where you’re likely to see a difference is with the Game of the Day, at least for Freecell and other games that some players repeat in order to improve their scores. (Of course some players game the system by practicing while signed in under another name, then log in as to their racer account to record a totally bogus “first score”)
