Cards moving to places I didn't choose

I am new at your game; my husband played it everyday for years and loved it.
I am playing for him as he can't play now. I like it, but
I find it very annoying when the cards move for me, instead of letting me play.
I read the rules and can't find a way to stop this.
Suggestions?

Be very careful when you click on the card you want to move. If you click on the background (and it doesn't have to be by much!) rather than directly on the card, it activates the auto-play.
