    Perhaps have someone take a look at your computer to find what might be making it do this. Neither the game, nor this site, are causing these issues. If they were, we'd all be complaining.

    If you press the keys/mouse when the cursor is out of the field of play, the greenfelt area, the game pauses.
    If you open another screen to check your mail, it pauses. Any move out of the greenfelt pauses the game.

    I am not sure if the problem is the same as I have had a few times. Perhaps this may help ... Shut down your computer for about 1/2 hour than turn it on. It always works for me , hope it works for you. ;~)
