Yukon rules of thumb?

I'm new to Yukon and just getting a feel for it. Still haven't intuited guiding principles for the game. In Freecell such rules might include: "get the aces up first," "don't let any one column get too long," and of course "look out for super moves." Do any of the Yukon experts here care to share the hard-won rules of thumb they have evolved for the game? @tucsonsky for instance? I see that player frequently high up on the scoreboard, like Bonnie Bonz for Freecell.

  • When I play, I focus on uncovering all the cards. Sometimes it will be awhile before I put any at the top. I usually focus on number of moves, not speed, so I don't know if that will help.

  • Thanks. This is my focus too. And early on I concentrate on the leftmost card, the lone one in its column, because it makes room for a king.

  • Hmm. I usually work right to left, focusing on the columns with the most covered cards first. :-)
Enjoy the game! It's one of my favorites.

  • my favorite feature at this site is “replay” .. .. .. if u try something and it doesn’t work out, use it and try something else
