  • a list of players in order of average position in all games they have each played

That's something we'd like, too. Also more stats for individual players, like a win/loss ratio, streaks, and that sort of thing. Someday we'll get some stuff like that going.

  • great idea !

  • yeah! I now agree with possible changes no disrespect, at first I wasn't interested, I just enjoy for fun, not like other sites,

  • I wasn't disagreeing. I honestly don't understand competition in solitaire games. That's why I asked. :)

  • I'd like a running stats list. It's a solo game, but it would be nice to have the continuing challenge of trying to move up in the list and being able to see if you can continue to improve. Incintive! Motivation!

The problem is, you're more likely to be moving down, not up, because other people can always come along and play the same game and (potentially) score higher than you, driving you down the table. Especially if you're one of the first to play a particular shuffle, you could very well finish first, but be #100 a few hours later.

Also, I imagine that this constant recalculation of average position would require extraordinary amounts of computing power to give up-to-the-minute results, since it would have to check every one of millions of games (over a billion, I think) that have ever been played here. Notice how it takes quite a few seconds to display the Leader Board, which is a live recalculation of just a handful of games

If you made it so that it just calculated a fixed result based on the time you played, it would be unfairly biased towards people who had played games before anyone else, no matter how well or poorly. It's easy to hit "New Game" a bunch of times and get into games that no one else has played yet, so you're guaranteed a first place finish, even if you take an hour and only make five moves (or whatever).
