game apps for the phone .. .. .. there are hundreds of ads daily on tv for these apps to put on ur phone, the ads imply that hundreds, maybe thousands of $$$ can be made just by using these apps to play slots and card games

Yukon rules of thumb?

I'm new to Yukon and just getting a feel for it. Still haven't intuited guiding principles for the game. In Freecell such rules might include: "get the aces up first," "don't let any one column get too long," and of course "look out for super moves." Do any of the Yukon experts here care to share the hard-won rules of thumb they have evolved for the game? @tucsonsky for instance? I see that player frequently high up on the scoreboard, like Bonnie Bonz for Freecell.

Thank you so much for this game site. Since I retired I have enjoyed playing it every day. Also just wanted to acknowledge Jabba - what a true champion! Every time I get close to catching you, you step up a level! Also what happens with 3bc? Obviously outclasses all of us but rarely shows up to play…?

I don;t know how you do your scoring, but the participant named IheartICE is often at the top of the scores, with impossible times such as 19 seconds. This is impossible.

I just started playing Yukon a few weeks ago and it has taken me this long to recognize a helpful fact:

Aces can not only go up to the Home spaces, they can be moved onto opposite color 2s.

This can be useful in a game where every move opens up new possibilities for moves.

I'd like to recommend Green Felt to senior citizens (80+) for mental exercise.
To get them started, I'd like to suggest which games to play first, meaning those whose rules are the easiest to understand, or games that are the easiest to play. (Might those be the same?).
Assume the new player is not familiar with computer Solitaire (or maybe not even physical cards Solitaire).
It seems to me:
1. Pyramid is the easiest for getting started. Then maybe
2. Spider (One Suit) then
3. Spider (Two Suit)?
4. Freecell might be easier (because the cards are familiar looking suits)?
Then what?
Maybe I only need a "Top 5" or so just to get them started.
Alternately, maybe Leader Board players want to go crazy and rank those 1-14 games from easiest to hardest?
Thoughts, suggestions…

'Restore game' to the rescue!

Because of my shaking, jerking hands I sometimes click on something I don't want to and lose my game. But with 'Restore game' I can just go back and not lose my progress. I can live with the occasional irritation it causes for this benefit. I'm probably the only one who has benefited from this feature.

Here's how I have been amusing myself lately: seeking out and playing Freecell games with numerologically interesting numbers. I started with game one.

(To choose your game, append its number to https://greenfelt.net/freecell?game= . Green Felt accepts game numbers up to 10 digits long, i.e. from a universe of ten billion. If you call for a game using 11 or more digits, you just get a random game as if you hadn't said ?game= at all.)

All single-digit games have been mined pretty thoroughly (thousands of plays), and the #1 and #2 spots are mostly claimed by @3bc and @bongwater with sub-10-sec. times. Here is an interesting pattern of user names in the top 10 for the latter part of this series:

Game 7: Sea-eagle, kingfisher, Albatross, Kite, Swallow
8: Sea-eagle, Kite, Hawk, Albatross, kingfisher, Vulture, Osprey
9: Heron, kingfisher, Swallow, Sea-eagle, Osprey, Kite

I had saved the game numbers from a few Pyramid games that I couldn't win. The high scores showed someone got 28 but I couldn't figure out how they did it so I saved the game number. I've gone back to look at these same games but the high scores disappeared and I'm not sure if it's the same game as before. Does the game stay the same for a specific game number or can it change?

It is annoying to have the words blare out at you when you log on and find the last game you played and didn't win is being "restored". I have no use for a restored game in Klondike or any other card game. Please consider removing this feature.
